Invitation to read my review of Heather Wyatt's Call My Name

My second review at The Poetry Cafe--a review of Heather Wyatt's Call My Name (The Poetry Box, 2019)--is now online.

Wyatt, a poet who teaches English at the University of Alabama, has written a collection of poems that "...is part memoir, in that the author sometimes takes us back to her childhood and some of the important characters who shaped it. It is also a collection of her keen observations of everyday events and objects—things that make up a major part of our lives, but which we may tend to ignore"

Whether she's describing the streets of New Orleans, a neglected statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, or her own body, Wyatt's attention to detail and her expert use of imagery combine to create memorable poetry.

My review is available to read here.
