It's National Poetry Month!
April is National Poetry Month (the 26th year) in the U.S. and Canada.
National Poetry Month is celebrated in libraries and schools, and there are
always extra poetry readings you can attend in April. Other things that
you can do are: buy a poetry book, memorize a favorite poem, listen to a poetry podcast, get a poem a day in your inbox, or take a poetry class in person or online.
Perhaps you'd like to try writing a poem; there's a daily prompt available at Poetry Super Highway.
This year, April 29 is Poem in Your Pocket Day. Here are some ways to celebrate the day, though I prefer the old-fashioned fold a poem and stick in your pocket way. You can also stuff your pockets with poems and leave them behind at coffee shops, or drop them in community poetry boxes.
If you want to read some poems, check the THINGS TO READ section of this blog.
