April is National Poetry Month
April is National Poetry Month in both the U.S. and Canada. It's a good month to attend a poetry reading, read some new poetry, or finally have a crack at writing poetry (or perhaps take a poetry-writing class). You can also read a poem a day, and participate in Poem in Your Pocket Day on April 30.
If you're interested in getting poetry prompts, a good source for this special month is Poetry Super Highway.
And if you want some suggestions for online poetry journals you can read, there's a list of them on the front page of this blog. Finally, I invite you to buy any of my poetry chapbooks. They are all available on Amazon, but they can also be purchased directly from the publishers. Each chapbook contains both free and formal verse; I enjoy writing both. And you can see more of my poetry by checking the posts on this blog.
